Anchorage, Alaska LDS Temple
There is a beautiful contrast between glass and stone in the Alaskan temple. I enjoyed the challenge of playing reflected light and color off the stones and glimpsing the Alaskan landscape in the window reflections. I also liked playing hard and soft edges against each other, like the sparkle of tiny flowers against the heavy blocks of stone. Inside the temple, there are covenants and truths that can bless families for eternity. I tried to imagine a patron approaching the doorway and reading “Holiness to the Lord, The House of the Lord” as they entered.
